Job Description

A growing law firm in the Baltimore-Metro area seeks a qualified and experienced billing specialist to join the team,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and distribute client invoices in accordance with firm policies and client billing guidelines.
  • Enter and code time and expense entries from attorneys and staff accurately into the billing system.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and issues with attorneys, clients, and accounting staff.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue invoices in a professional manner.
  • Maintain compliance with client billing requirements, including e-billing platforms and electronic submission standards.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to billing.
  • Generate billing reports and summaries for management and partners.
  • Provide support for audits or internal reviews regarding billing procedures.
  • Continuously review and improve billing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in legal billing or accounting preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal billing software (e.g., Chrome River, Elite, Aderant, Clio) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
